JUDITH TORGBOR-ANAMAN

DR JUDITH ANAMAN TORGBORDr. Judith Torgbor-Anaman is a Senior Lecturer at School of Nursing and Midwifery,  and Ag. Dean of Student Affairs at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), Ho. She is a clinical registered nurse with postgraduate qualification in Public Health.

Prior to joining the University, she was a research scientist at the Research and Development Division, Ghana Heath Service.

Education

She had her basic Nursing degree at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Ghana and her Postgraduate qualification (MPhil.) at the School of Public Health, University of Ghana and her PhD studies at the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia.

Work Experience

Dr. Judith Torgbor-Anaman is a clinical nurse and continue to work as a research scientist. As a clinical nurse, she worked at the Cape Coast Regional hospital, Ridge Hospital and doubled as in-service trainer for private health facilities in Accra. As a research scientist working with the Research and Development Department of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Torgbor-Anaman worked as a Project Officer on the Nation-wide projects: Baseline evaluation of household impact of the Treatment Accelerated Programme (TAP) in Ghana and a survey to establish the proportion of un-vaccinated and under-vaccinated children in Ghana. She also coordinated a nation-wide study: Active Management of the Third Stage of Labour in Health Care Facilities in Ghana.

Science /Research Interest

Her research interest is in Behavioural Oncology Research, HIV/AIDS, Community Engagement, Quality of Life, Prevention and Early Detection of Cancer. Judith has a number of research articles published in peered-reviewed journals.

Dr. Torgbor-Anaman resides in Ghana and in her free times, she reviews articles for peer review journals including Health Promotion Journal of Australia, NUMID Horizon Journal, Women’s health Journal, European Journal of Cancer Prevention and BMC Journal.

Dr. Judith Torgbor-Anaman is an Associate Fellow at Higher Education Academy, UK/Australia and a panel assessor for the National Accreditation Board, Ghana. In 2018 she was invited to be an examiner for the School of Public Health and Social Work, Queensland University of Technology, Australia.
