ANTHONY KOLSABILIK KUUG

k anthony bio 1493822702Kuug Anthony Kolsabilik is an Assistant Lecturer at Department of Nursing of School of Nursing And Midwifery, University of Health and Allied Sciences in Ghana. He was appointed to the School of Nursing and Midwifery in 2014. He is a nurse by profession.

Education

He had his training in General Nursing in the Upper East Region of Ghana.  He later pursued his Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Psychology and a Master’s degree in Public Health (Reproductive Health) at University of Ghana and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology respectively.

He is currently pursuing a PhD. Nursing at Nelson Mandela University in South Africa.

Work Experience

He served as a nursing practitioner providing clinical nursing care to both in-patients and out-patients, supervised student nurses on clinical duties, and performed the role as a nurse prescriber during emergencies in the night for three (3) years. He worked as a nurse tutor at Community Health Nurses Training School for five (5) years where he taught General Nursing, Adolescent Reproductive Health and Family Planning. He supervised student nurses during clinical attachments at various district health facilities. He also assisted the District Health Administration (DHA) in supervising, monitoring and evaluating immunization programs at the Kassena Nankana District in Navrongo.

He taught at Presbyterian University College, Ghana and West End University College at Asante Akim North District (Agogo) and Accra respectively.

Science/Research out

His research interest is in Maternal and Child Health. He has publications on breastfeeding, family planning, home management of convulsions, neonatal sepsis and infertility among couples.  He is a member of Ghana Registered Nurses Association (GRNA).
