MUMUNI HADIRU IDDRIS

hadiru iddris mumuni bio 1493831847Mr. Mumuni Hadiru Iddris is an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Nursing of the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Health and Allied Science in Ghana. He was Principal Health Tutor at the Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Koforidua.

Education

He had his professional nursing education at the Nursing Training College, Ho in Ghana. He later pursued a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana and a Master of Philosophy in Nursing at the University of Ghana.

Work experience

He practiced as a general nurse in Keta District Hospital in Ghana for 3½ years and was the district general secretary of Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association. He taught at the Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Koforidua for 9 years and prepared students for professional/licensing examinations. Within the period he was secretary to the board of governors of the college and served in several committees including tutors in-charge of seminar, orientation and students’ affairs.

Science/Research output

Mr. Mumuni’s research area is HIV/AIDS, especially HIV/AIDS in Children and their caregivers. His M. Phil thesis was on “Experiences of informal caregivers of children living with HIV/AIDS in the New Juaben Municipality”. Other area of his research interest is Nursing and Midwifery documentation. He is a Member of the External Evaluation Team for Making Every Baby Count Initiative (MEBCI) program in Ghana (New Born Care project) with Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR), University of Ghana, Legon.
