SALIA SOLOMON MOHAMMED

solomon m salia 1530372757Salia Solomon Mohammed is a tutor at the University of Health and Allied sciences, School of Nursing and Midwifery, Department of Nursing. Prior to this, he had worked at the Tamale Teaching Hospital as a Registered Nurse (RN) and rising through the nursing ranks to a Nursing Officer (NO) status. He is an advanced Practice Nurse (APN).

Education
He had his Nursing training education at the Tamale Nurses’ and Midwifery training college where he graduated with Diploma in general nursing after three years of enrollment. He further went to the University for Development Studies, Tamale where he studied Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) and later studied Master of Science (MSc) in Advanced Nursing Practice at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana.

Work Experience
He had 6 years of working experience as a clinical nurse at the Tamale Teaching Hospital from 2010-2016. During his working years at the hospital, I had working experience from maternity, medical, and surgical wards and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). He was a trainer on essential newborn care including neonatal resuscitation, and a champion of the preterm baby where he worked as a facilitator in various newborn care programs within the Tamale Teaching Hospital and at the regional health directorate, northern region. As a team member, contributed to the establishment of NICU centers at Cheriponi, Karaga and Jirapa. He worked as a tutor at University of Ghana, School of Distance and Continuing Education, Tamale for six (6) months. He was also a team member for conducting medical examination and screening for UDS students for a period of 5 years.

Science/Research output
Salia Solomon Mohammed’s research area of interest is in nursing science, and nursing management and administration.
