Afaya Agani is a tutor of the University of Health and Allied Sciences in Ghana. Prior to this, he was a Nursing Officer at Tamale Teaching Hospital, a part-time Assistant lecturer at University of Development Studies Tamale and a tutor at University of Ghana College of Education, School of Continuing and Distance Education.
Education He had his Nursing education at the Tamale Nursing and Midwifery Training College in Ghana and later pursued a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University for Development Studies and a Master of Science in Advanced Nursing Practice from the University of Cape coast, Ghana.
Work experience He practiced as a staff nurse and rose to the rank of a nursing officer in Tamale Teaching Hospital. He practiced for 7 years. During this period, he worked at the General Surgical ward for 3 years, Orthopaedics Unit for 3 years and the Medical department for a year. He also worked as a part-time Assistant Lecturer at the University for Development studies for a year and also a Tutor at the University of Ghana College of Education, School of Continuing and Distance Education for half a year. He was a member of the Medical Screening Team for University for Development Studies Tamale for 7 years. He is currently a preceptor and a project supervisor for Master of Science students in Advanced Nursing Practice from the University of Cape Coast Ghana.
Science /Research output Afaya Agani’s area of research is clinical nursing and medical research, especially medical-surgical nursing research including Maternal and child health.
