Ellen Eyi Klutsey is an assistant lecturer with the Department of Nursing of the School of Nursing and Midwifery. She joined the department in September 2013.
Education
Ms Klutsey had her Registered General Nursing (RGN) certificate from the Nurses’ Training College, Ho and Diploma in Nursing from the University of Ghana, Legon. She pursued BSc. Nursing from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi then Master of Public Health from the University of Ghana, Legon and majored in reproductive health. She is currently a Doctoral in Nursing student at the University of the Western Cape, South Africa.
Work Experience
Prior to joining the University of Health and Allied Sciences workforce, Ms Klutsey worked as a general nurse in hospitals in the Volta Region and Ashanti Region (while pursuing degree in nursing). She was later appointed as a nurse educator at the Nurses’ Training College, Ho. She was class coordinator and had oversight of the college’s skills laboratory. She served in various committees such as the research and academic committees aside teaching and supervision of curricular activities. She also served as an external examiner for the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana.
As a lecturer, she handled courses in reproductive and adolescent health and medical-surgical nursing. She has publications in peer reviewed journals.
Research Interest
Ms Klutsey’s research interests include HIV/AIDS, maternal and adolescent health.
