Mr. Wisdom Avor is an Assistant Lecturer, Department of Nursing, School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho.
Education
He holds a Master of Philosophy in Nursing from University of Ghana, Legon. He also has a certificate in Qualitative Research Methodology from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. He had his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Garden City University College, Kenyasi – Kumasi. Mr. Avor read Diploma in Mental Health Nursing at the Pantang Nursing Training College, Pantang in Accra.
Work Experience
He Mr. Wisdom Avor worked as a District Mental Health Nurse, Co-ordinator & Member of District Health Management Team (DHMT) at the Kwahu Government Hospital, Atibie. He was also a District Mental Health Nurse, Co-ordinator & Member of District Health Management Team (DHMT) – Akuapem South District in the Eastern Region.
Mr. Avor also worked as an Adjunct Tutorial Staff, University of Ghana College of Continuing and Distant Education, Department of Nursing (2016 - 2019). He also worked as an Assistant Lecturer, Department of Nursing, Ghana Christian University College, Amrahia – Accra. Mr. Wisdom Avor was also the Acting Head of Nursing and Mental Health Affiliation Coordinator and Nursing and Midwifery Council Liaison office.
Science/Research output
His research areas of interest are Mental Health and Addiction Treatment, Factors Influencing Change in Behavior among persons with drug addiction and Addictive Disorders & Their Treatment.
