Dr. Anita Fafa Dartey is an Occupational Health Nurse and a Lecturer at the Department of Nursing, School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in Ghana. She is also the Head of Department of Public Health Nursing.
Education
She obtained her PhD and Masters in Nursing from the University of the Western Cape, South Africa. She obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education from University of Cape Coast. Dr. Dartey also obtained a Bachelor of Technology in Occupational Health Nursing and Diploma in Nursing Management from Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Cape Town- South Africa. Earlier, she attended University of Ghana, Legon where she obtained a Bachelor of Art in Psychology with Sociology. An Advance Diploma in Community Medicine from Rural Health Training College at Kintampo.
Work Experience
Prior to her appointment at UHAS as a lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, She worked with the Ministry of Health as a Nursing Tutor for 10 years at Nursing Training College, Ho and SDA-Nurses’ Training College, Kwadaso-Kumasi where she was a Principal Nursing Tutor. Dr. Dartey also worked as a Physician Assistant at Maternal and Child Health Hospital and SDA Hospital, all in Kumasi.
Research Interest
Her research interest are Occupational Health and safety, Quality of Work Life, Midwifery related Work, Employee Assistance Programmes, Ergonomics, Workability issues, Occupational Stress, Working Children, patients Acuity and Labour Issues.
She has some publications in peer-review journals.
