Ms. Margaret Ofori is an Assistant Lecturer with Department of Nursing, School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Health and Allied Sciences.
Education
Ms. Ofori holds a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Nursing from University of Ghana, Bachelor of Education in Health Sciences from University of Cape Coast and Diploma in Nursing from the University of Ghana. She is a Registered General Nurse who trained at Ho Nurses Training College. In addition, she has certificates in Problem Based Learning from Maastricht University, and Assessment frameworks for Higher Education Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Education from the Zuyd University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands.
She is a member of Sigma Theta Tua International (STTI), Fellow of the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives, Member of Research Mentorship Alliance, and currently the Second Vice Chairperson for Volta/Oti Region of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA).
Work Experience
Ms. Margaret Ofori is the immediate past Licensing Examination Coordinator, Nursing and Midwifery Council, Ghana. Prior to her appointment at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, she was the first Volta Regional Officer of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana (N&MC) from 2012 to 2018. Her remarkable achievement in that office attracted delegates from Ethiopia and Kenya to understudy the work of the Council during their visit to the Council in Ghana in 2013 and 2014 respectively.
Ms. Ofori started teaching in her Alma mater, Ho Nurses Training College, in 2010 and was a Senor Health Tutor on secondment at the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana. She also practiced at the Ho Teaching Hospital from 2004 to 2010. Her passion for her work gave her the opportunity to have some clinical experiences at the Ho Municipal Hospital, Hohoe Municipal Hospital, Jasikan District Hospital, Ketu South Municipal Hospital, 37 Military Hospital and Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. Outside teaching and learning, she is passionate in motivating and mentoring her students towards achieving academic and professional excellence.
Science /Research output
Miss Ofori has research interest in adult health, clinical nursing research, quality assurance in teaching and learning, pain management, areas of oncology and palliative nursing. She has expertise in qualitative research, qualitative analysis, nursing education and curriculum development. Her publications are under various stages of review.
