Mr. Felix Kwasi Nyande is a lecturer in Department Nursing, School of Nursing and Midwifery of University Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS). He was appointed to this position in 2014. He has taught several courses in School of Nursing and Midwifery since his appointment. He served as the Registration and Examination Officer of the School of Nursing and Midwifery between 2015 and 2017.
Education
Mr. Nyande holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Master of Philosophy both from University of Ghana, Legon. He is a Registered Nurse. He is currently pursuing PhD in Nursing Science at Nelson Mandela University, Republic of South Africa.
Work Experience
Before joining UHAS, he practiced as a Senior Nursing Officer at The Trust Hospital Ltd, and C & J Medicare Hospital; both in Accra for a combined period of seven years. He also taught as a part-time lecturer at St. Karol School of Nursing and Western Hills School of Nursing in Accra. He is a member of the Ghana Registered Nurses Association (GRNA).
Research output
His research interests include maternal and child health; clinical nursing research; nursing management and education; and qualitative research. Currently he is working on a doctoral thesis to develop strategies to facilitate the utilization of child healthcare services in the Nkwanta South Municipality, Ghana. He has a number of publications on Nursing management and utilisation of family planning.
