Mr. Konlan Kennedy Diema is an Assistant Lecturer with the Department Of Public Health Nursing, School Of Nursing And Midwifery. Prior to his current employment; he was a Senior Nursing Officer at the Tamale Teaching Hospital. He also worked as a programme coordinator to the Dajrim foundation in Bunkpurugu - a non-profit local charity organization that seeks to protect the welfare of the vulnerable. He is a registered general nurse.
Education
Mr Konlan Kennedy Diema attained his Mphil Degree in Community Health and Development from the University for Development Studies where he earlier attained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. He had a Diploma in General nursing from the Tamale Nurses and Midwifery Training College.
Work experience
Employed as a Staff Nurse, he rose through the ranks of nursing to become a Senior Nursing Officer at Tamale Teaching Hospital. He worked as a nurse at the Kings Medical Centre in Bontanga – Kumbungu. Mr. Konlan also worked on the intervention research by Ran Rilab Research programme on resilience to shocks and stressors of northern communities currently at the University Development Studies where he worked as a part time lecturer. He also worked as a lecturer to the Technical University College of Tamale. He is the programme coordinator to the Dajrim foundation in Bunkpurugu.
Science / research output
Mr. Konlan research interest areas include malaria control, maternal, child and adolescent health, clinical research, client satisfaction, neglected tropical diseases and health care determinants. He has worked as a research assistant to a number of research programmes conducted in the north. He has several research publication in peer review journals including the BMC series of journals while several others are in various stages of peer review
