The Council of Ewe Association of North America (CEANA) Nurses, a Non - Profit Organization (NGO) that facilitates and promotes networking among Ewes in North America (USA & Canada) donated medical items to the School of Nursing and Midwifery (SONAM) on February 25th, 2025.
The team was led by Mrs. Alice Annang. She indicated that CEANA Nurses are poised to provide assistance to projects within the health sector in the Volta Region and since UHAS is the only state institution in Ghana solely dedicated to the training of health professionals, the Association decided to establish a working relationship with its School of Nursing and Midwifery.
The mission of CEANA according to Mrs. Annang, is to provide assistance to nurses in general, for those in practice and those in training. She emphasized their commitment to assisting nurses in training to enhance opportunities for career and leadership developments. The items donated included 3.78 liters of Hand Sanitizer (4), 20 packs of Polychloroprene Hand Gloves and 30 packs of Magid Hand Gloves.
The team toured the main campus of UHAS and also had fruitful discussions with the Management of the School of Nursing and Midwifery. It is expected that in future CEANA Nurses will firm up the relationship with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), leading to significant developments projects within the University.
The Dean of SONAM, Professor Peter Adatara expressed profound gratitude to CEANA Nurses for the generous donation. He also gave the assurance that the medical items would be put to good use.
